BusinessLatest News 5 Years Of Grit And Grace: Funmi Okwuonu Reflects On G&F Logistics’ Journey Of Growth And Perseverance ...Customers commend the firm’s swift deliveries, express satisfaction with its services and pray for its founder’s continued success By Business Monitor October 14, 202648 views ShareTweet 0 By Victoria Isaac Global and Future Logistics (G&F Logistics), an Ibadan-based logistics company founded by Funmi Graceland Okwuonu, marked its fifth anniversary on Monday, October 12, 2026, reflecting on a journey shaped by perseverance, customer trust and the determination to sustain the business despite operational challenges. Located at Sharp Corner, opposite Queen Plaza Complex, Oluyole Extension, Ibadan, the company has grown from a small delivery outfit into a multi-service logistics provider handling interstate and international deliveries, e-commerce shipments, car pick-up and drop-off services, errands, and the movement of personal and business goods. Its operations are supported by a team comprising six staff members, four riders, a customer care officer and an assistant, who contribute to the daily running of the business. For Okwuonu, reaching the five-year milestone holds particular significance after a year she described as challenging. Reflecting on her experience, she said 2026 had tested her greatly but expressed gratitude to Jehovah for helping her achieve success despite the difficulties. In an anniversary message, she looked back on the uncertainty she faced when starting the business and the challenges she could not have anticipated. “The lessons, the challenges, the disappointments, and the strength it would take to keep going were things I could never have fully imagined,” she wrote, reflecting on the person she was when she began the journey five years ago. “But today, here we are. FIVE YEARS LATER. And all I can say is, thank you, Jehovah. For the strength, the guidance, and for helping me make it this far,” she added. Her reflections highlight the personal demands of entrepreneurship, including navigating setbacks, learning from difficult experiences and finding the determination to continue when circumstances become challenging. Customers Celebrate a Service They Can Trust As G&F Logistics celebrates five years in business, customers have also expressed appreciation for the company’s services, commending its swift deliveries and offering prayers for Okwuonu’s continued success. Customers said they had never regretted patronising the business, expressing satisfaction with their experiences and wishing the founder greater achievements in the years ahead. Their feedback highlights the importance of reliability in the logistics industry, where timely deliveries and effective communication can influence customer satisfaction and encourage repeat patronage. For a business entrusted with parcels, personal belongings and commercial goods, maintaining customer confidence is essential to building lasting relationships. This is particularly important for small businesses and online vendors whose commitments often depend on deliveries reaching recipients as expected. Building a Business Around Trust In an interview six months ago, Okwuonu explained that affordability, convenience and customer confidence were central to G&F Logistics’ operations. “We try to make our deliveries affordable and convenient for our customers,” she said. “Most importantly, we try to build trust and ensure customers have peace of mind when we are handling their packages.” The company serves individuals, small vendors, online businesses and corporate organisations, offering delivery services for various items, including clothing, shoes, skincare products, jewellery, electronics, household goods, food and pharmaceuticals, while excluding illegal items. Okwuonu also identified communication as an important part of the company’s approach to customer service. “We ensure good communication so customers are always aware of the status of their goods,” she said. *CEO of Global and Future Logistics, Funmi Graceland Okwuonu Such communication can help customers remain informed about their packages, particularly when deliveries encounter delays or other operational difficulties. The Challenges Behind the Deliveries Despite its growth, G&F Logistics operates in an environment affected by infrastructure constraints and rising operating costs. During the earlier interview, Okwuonu identified poor road conditions as one of the major difficulties affecting delivery schedules. Vehicle breakdowns, enforcement-related issues and increasing fuel prices have also presented operational challenges. “One of the major challenges we face is bad roads,” she said. “When roads are not good, it causes delays, but we try to plan ahead to minimise disruptions.” She also acknowledged the pressure of rising fuel costs and the difficulty of balancing operating expenses with customers’ expectations of affordable services. “Sometimes it doesn’t really favour us, but we still try to balance affordability and service delivery,” she said. These challenges illustrate the demands of sustaining a logistics business, where delays and unexpected expenses can affect both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Okwuonu’s description of 2026 as a year that tested her greatly adds a personal dimension to the anniversary. Although she did not specify the particular experiences behind that reflection, her message conveyed gratitude for the strength to persevere and the success achieved along the way. Looking Towards the Next Chapter Before its fifth anniversary, G&F Logistics had expanded into international deliveries and secured partnership deals, according to information provided during the earlier interview. Okwuonu also discussed plans to introduce real-time tracking systems to improve transparency and customer experience, alongside a long-term ambition to establish the company among Nigeria’s leading logistics brands. “In the next five to ten years, we hope to be among the top trusted logistics companies in Nigeria,” she said. As the company enters its sixth year, sustaining customer confidence, managing operational pressures and pursuing opportunities for further growth remain important considerations. For Okwuonu, the anniversary is also an opportunity to acknowledge the experiences that have shaped her journey as an entrepreneur, from the lessons learned and disappointments encountered to the determination required to keep moving forward. Her gratitude to Jehovah, alongside customers’ expressions of appreciation and prayers for her continued success, reflects the personal significance of reaching the milestone. Five years after the business began, G&F Logistics is looking towards its next chapter with ambitions for further growth, while its founder reflects on the perseverance, experiences and faith that have helped bring the company this far.
