Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is set to return to the big screen with her latest feature film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, scheduled to hit cinemas globally on December 11, 2026. Akindele announced the release date on Monday through a post on her verified Instagram page, @funkejenifaakindele, unveiling The Four as the 2026 production from her Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV).

“It’s go time!!!

“On your mark… Get set… Go!!!!”

“The relay is ON, and the Funke Akindele Network movie for 2026 is officially… THE FOUR.”

“The baton has been passed. The announcement has been made.”

“Now… shall we begin?”

“It’s time to introduce you to THE FOUR. In all cinemas nationwide,” she wrote. Produced by FAAN TV and distributed exclusively by FilmOne Entertainment, The Four: No One Fights Alone is an emotionally driven drama centred on friendship, motherhood, resilience and the strength of women. The film also explores themes of courage, faith, sacrifice and loyalty while celebrating Nigerian cultural identity through music, fashion, language, tradition and cinematography.

The film features Akindele alongside an ensemble cast that includes Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola.

Others in the cast are singer Waje, Afrobeats artiste Shoday, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun.

According to details released about the production, the story moves between the Odu community and the city, with its central conflict exploring how far friendship and loyalty can be stretched when four women take a risk over a young man’s future.

The film adds to Akindele’s growing body of successful productions, following titles including Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Behind the Scenes.

Akindele has continued to strengthen her position in Nigeria’s film industry through productions that combine commercial appeal with Nigerian stories and cultural themes. Her recent filmmaking run has included major box-office successes, with Behind the Scenes becoming a major commercial hit after its 2025 release.

With The Four: No One Fights Alone, Akindele is set to bring another ensemble-led Nigerian story to cinemas when the film opens globally on December 11.
