Davido, Tems, Wizkid Thrill Fans In Maryland

Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido, Tems and Wizkid have thrilled music fans at the 2026 AfroPlus Fest, which ended on Sunday at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Maryland, U.S.

AfroPlus Fest, a three-day celebration of Africa, global black music and culture, was held from Friday to Saturday.

The festival featured performances from Nigerian, African, Caribbean and American artistes across Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and hip-hop.

The festival’s official Instagram page, @theafroplus, shared updates and highlights from the performances.

Davido headlined the opening day on Friday, while Tems took the stage on Saturday and Wizkid closed the festival on Sunday, according to the announced daily lineup.

Wizkid also marked his 15th anniversary in the music industry with his closing performance on Sunday.

Other artistes who performed at the festival included Ayra Starr, Olamide, Adekunle Gold, Sarkodie, Odeal and Victony.

American artistes on the lineup included Lil Baby, Latto, Sexyy Red and Chief Keef, while Jamaican dancehall star Alkaline was also billed to perform.

Beyond music, the festival featured food vendors, merchandise and cultural marketplaces, brand activations, art installations, wellness experiences and other activities celebrating Black culture and creativity.

AfroPlus Fest made its debut as a one-day festival at the RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, D.C., in August 2025.

The inaugural edition attracted about 20,000 people and sold out, according to organisers.

For its 2026 edition, the festival moved to Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland, and was expanded to a three-day event.

The festival, held over the U.S. Labour Day weekend, brought together artistes and audiences from different parts of the African diaspora for a celebration of music, culture and entertainment.
