Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi, Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned his appointment, effective Monday, October 12, 2026, adding to the reported departures from the governor’s administration in recent months.

Ogunwuyi announced his decision in a resignation letter dated October 12, 2026, in which he expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve the government and people of Oyo State.

In the letter, he described his time in office as a great honour and said working with the governor and other members of the administration to deliver on their mandate had been deeply fulfilling.

He also expressed pride in the collective efforts of the team towards the growth, development and prosperity of the state, noting that the experience had been both rewarding and memorable.

Ogunwuyi thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him throughout his tenure, while expressing optimism about the continued progress of Oyo State.

He further reaffirmed his highest esteem and loyalty to Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, despite his decision to leave the administration.

Before his appointment as Chief of Staff, Ogunwuyi served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and later represented his constituency in the House of Representatives.

His resignation comes amid reports of other aides and appointees leaving the Makinde administration in recent months.

However, Ogunwuyi did not state any specific reason for his resignation in the letter.
