Oyo NSCDC Strengthens Personnel Welfare, Mobility With 15 Motorcycles

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Oyo State Command, has strengthened efforts to improve personnel welfare and operational mobility with the commissioning and distribution of 15 motorcycles to selected officers.

The motorcycles were commissioned and presented to the beneficiaries on Monday, 24th August, 2026, at the NSCDC Oyo State Command Headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan, by the State Commandant, Commandant Augustine Padonu.

The initiative, facilitated by the NSCDC Ibadan Staff Cooperative Society, was aimed at easing transportation challenges faced by personnel and providing practical support to enhance their productivity and capacity to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

Speaking at the ceremony, Padonu commended the Commandant-General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for his leadership and support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of personnel.

He also praised the leadership and members of the cooperative society, describing the motorcycle scheme as a laudable intervention capable of providing economic relief to beneficiaries while improving their mobility and operational effectiveness.

The State Commandant said personnel welfare remained central to effective administration and service delivery, noting that adequately supported and motivated officers were better positioned to carry out the mandate of the Corps.

He urged the beneficiaries to see the motorcycles not only as a welfare benefit but also as a responsibility, charging them to ensure proper maintenance and responsible use.

Padonu said the support should translate into improved discipline, commitment, productivity and service delivery, while encouraging personnel to participate actively in cooperative initiatives designed to promote their collective welfare and economic advancement.

Earlier, the Chairman of the NSCDC Ibadan Staff Cooperative Society, CSC Victor Adegunlola, said the distribution was conceived in response to the welfare and mobility needs of members, particularly personnel whose duties require regular movement within their areas of responsibility.

According to him, transportation remains a significant challenge for many personnel, making the intervention important to their daily lives and official responsibilities.

Adegunlola appreciated the Commandant-General and the Oyo State Commandant for their support and encouragement, adding that the cooperative society would continue to explore sustainable initiatives aimed at strengthening the economic capacity and welfare of its members.

He urged the beneficiaries to maintain the motorcycles properly and fulfil their obligations under the cooperative arrangement, stressing that the sustainability of such interventions depended on the commitment and responsible participation of members.

The ceremony featured the formal commissioning and presentation of the 15 motorcycles to the selected beneficiaries, with senior officers and members of the Command in attendance.

The initiative underscores the role of the NSCDC Ibadan Staff Cooperative Society, with the support of the leadership of the Corps and the Oyo State Command, in promoting personnel welfare, economic empowerment, operational mobility and improved service delivery.
