The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men in Saki following an intelligence-led investigation into allegations of homosexual acts.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the arrests followed intelligence received by the command on September 29, 2026, about the alleged involvement of a group of individuals in the conduct. The Commissioner of Police subsequently directed the command’s Monitoring Unit to verify the information and take appropriate action.

The suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23. They were arrested by operatives of the Monitoring Unit’s Saki Operational Base.

During preliminary investigations, the police said the suspects allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts. According to the command, two of them reportedly confessed to having had sexual relations with the third suspect on multiple occasions, allegedly regarding him as their “wife.”

The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether other individuals were connected to the matter.

The command maintained that the investigation would be conducted professionally and impartially, in accordance with the law, adding that further action would depend on the findings.

It also urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to assist the police in preventing and investigating crime.
